Collection: Floral dresses

Every floral dress here is a one-off. We buy, check and photograph each piece ourselves, then grade it honestly on our five-step scale, so the dress in the pictures is the exact dress that arrives. The rail spans UK 4 to 30 and covers cotton day dresses, sleeveless summer minis, holiday pieces and midis smart enough for a wedding. Once one sells, that is it.

Buying preloved floral dresses

What turns up on the rail

Floral is the most common print in our whole dress intake, so this collection usually runs deep. High street labels lead the way: Marks & Spencer, TU, Next, New Look, H&M, ROMAN, Shein and Shein Curve all appear regularly. Sizing typically stretches from UK 4 right through to 30, with plus sizes coming through more often than most secondhand rails manage.

  • Light cotton and viscose day dresses for warm weather, often sitting alongside our summer dresses.
  • Sleeveless minis for holidays and hot spells.
  • Longer lengths that overlap with the midi dresses collection, useful for weddings and christenings.
  • Occasionwear florals in bolder, larger-scale prints.

If you like the print but want other shapes, the wider florals collection includes tops and skirts, and everything dress-shaped lives under women's dresses.

What to check before you buy

Floral dresses tend to be worn in summer, which means the wear shows in specific places. Look at the photos for these things, and ask if you want a closer shot.

  • Underarm areas. Deodorant marks and faint shadowing are the usual issue on sleeveless and short-sleeved summer dresses. We flag it in the grading when it is there.
  • Print fade. Compare the front to the side seams and inside the hem. Sun and repeated washing can lift colour on cotton, and a faded floral reads very differently in person.
  • Zips, buttons and ties. Waist ties fray at the ends, and shirt-dress buttons sometimes get replaced with near matches.
  • Lining and shape. Occasion florals are often lined; check the lining sits flat and has not shrunk shorter than the outer fabric.
  • Measurements over labels. A size 14 from one brand is not a size 14 from another, especially across the mix of labels we stock. Ask us for the flat measurements before you commit.

Why buy florals preloved

Printed dresses are the fastest-moving thing on the high street. New florals arrive every spring and get replaced the following spring, which means huge numbers of barely worn dresses end up unwanted. Buying one secondhand keeps it in use and costs the planet nothing extra in cotton, dye or shipping.

It also gets you prints that are no longer made. Last year's ditsy print or a ROMAN occasion floral from three seasons back is not coming back into stores, so a preloved rail is the only place to find it. And because each piece is one of one, you are far less likely to meet your own dress at a wedding.

Common questions

How do I know what size will fit me?

Sizes on this rail run from UK 4 to 30, but they come from a lot of different labels and none of them cut the same. Message us before buying and we will measure the chest, waist, hip and length flat and send the numbers over. Comparing those to a dress you already own is far more reliable than trusting the sewn-in label.

What condition are these dresses in?

Almost everything in this collection is graded Very good, with the occasional Good or Fair piece. Very good means it has been worn but has no faults we can see after checking seams, fastenings and hems. Anything below that gets photographed close up on the specific flaw so there are no surprises.

Are the printed fabrics safe to machine wash?

Honestly, it depends on the dress and we would rather you checked than ruined it. Many cotton and viscose florals are fine at 30 degrees inside out, but lined occasion dresses and anything with a delicate or pleated skirt are safer hand washed and dried flat. Some sellers cut the care label out, so if the label is missing we will tell you and you should treat the dress as delicate.

Can I return a dress if the print looks different in person?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to return anything for any reason, including simply not liking it on. If something turns out to be faulty or not as described, that window extends to 30 days. We photograph in daylight to keep colours accurate, but screens vary and we would rather you sent it back than kept something you will not wear.

How quickly will my dress arrive?

We dispatch within 2 working days on tracked UK delivery, and standard delivery is free once your order passes £50. If you need something for a specific date, say a wedding, tell us in a message and we will confirm whether it can get to you in time before you pay.

Nothing here suits me. Can you keep an eye out?

Yes, do get in touch through the contact form and tell us the size, length and sort of print you are after. We add new pieces most days, and floral dresses come through more often than any other print, so something that fits is rarely far off. We can flag it to you before it goes on the site.
