Collection: Mini dresses

Short dresses, one of each. Our mini dresses rail is a mix of summer day dresses, party pieces and puff sleeve styles, from high street names to a few going-out labels. Every dress is checked, graded on our five-step scale and photographed as it really looks, so what you see is the actual item. Sizes typically run from UK 4 to 18, and once a dress sells it is gone for good.

Buying preloved mini dresses

What turns up on the rail

The mix leans high street. H&M, Vila, Apricot and Primark appear regularly, alongside Shein, Lipsy, Kiss The Sky and Urban Outfitters. Patterns are mostly floral and polka dot, with abstract prints and the odd check. Styles cover summer and holiday dresses, long sleeve and puff sleeve shapes, ruffle hems and party minis. Sizes usually run across UK 4 to 18, though not every size is in stock at once. Most pieces are graded Very good, with a few still New with tags. If you want something longer or dressier, the occasion dresses selection is worth a look, and the going-out shapes here often sit close to our Y2K picks. You can also browse everything together in women's dresses.

What to check before you buy

Mini dresses take more wear in specific places than longer styles, so it pays to know where to look.

  • Length. Sizing labels tell you very little about hem height. Ask us for the shoulder-to-hem measurement so you know exactly where it will sit on you.
  • Hem and seams. Short hems catch on chairs and bags. We note any loose stitching or pulls in the grading and photos.
  • Underarms and side seams. Fitted minis get the most strain here. Check the listing photos for thinning or marks.
  • Stretch. On jersey and bodycon shapes, elastane can relax with wear. Bust and waist measurements matter more than the size tag.
  • Lining and zips. Party styles are often lined and back-zipped. We check both work before listing.

Measurements of any item are available on request before you buy, and we would rather send them over than have a dress come back.

Why buy mini dresses preloved

Short dresses are often bought for one event, worn once and then hung up. That means plenty of them come to us barely used, some with tags still on. Buying preloved keeps a wearable dress in circulation instead of landfill, and it lets you try a shape or a print you would not risk at full price. Because each dress is one of one, you are also unlikely to walk into a room and meet the same outfit. Every order goes out with tracked UK delivery, dispatched within 2 working days, and standard delivery is free over £50. If a dress is not right, you have 14 days to return it for any reason.

Common questions

How do I know a mini dress will be long enough for me?

Check the shoulder-to-hem measurement rather than the size label, as two size 12 minis can differ by several inches. Message us through the contact form and we will measure the exact dress you are looking at. We measure flat, garment measurements rather than body measurements.

What does the condition grading actually mean?

We use five steps: New with tags, Like new, Very good, Good and Fair. Most mini dresses here sit at Very good, meaning light wear with no faults that affect how they look on. Anything with a mark, pull or repair is photographed close up and described in the listing.

Will a preloved bodycon or jersey mini still hold its shape?

Sometimes not fully, and that is worth knowing before you buy. Elastane relaxes with wear and washing, so a stretch mini that has been worn a lot may sit looser than a new one. Ask us for the flat bust and waist measurements and we will tell you honestly how much stretch is left in it.

Can I wear these dresses in winter?

Yes, the rail regularly includes long sleeve and puff sleeve minis that work with tights and boots. Cord, ponte and heavier woven fabrics turn up alongside the lighter summer cottons. Filtering by sleeve style in the listing descriptions is the quickest way to find them.

How are the dresses packed and sent?

Everything goes out in plastic-free packaging with tracked UK delivery, dispatched within 2 working days of your order. Standard delivery is free once you spend over £50. Dresses are folded rather than rolled, so a light steam or press on arrival is sometimes all they need.

I can't see a mini dress in my size. What now?

Stock changes fast because each dress is a single item, and we add new pieces most days. Tell us your size, the style you are after and any colours you avoid via the contact form, and we will keep an eye out as things come in. It is also worth checking back at the weekend, when a lot of listings go live.
