Every item on this site has passed through my hands. I find preloved women’s clothes, check them, wash what needs washing, photograph the actual garment and write up its condition honestly. If there is a mark or a pulled thread, it is in the listing and it is in the photographs.

How I got here

ReTreasure started on Vinted, one parcel at a time. It is still there, and the reviews are still there too: 1,173 of them, with a 5.0 average across 704 member reviews. That shop is where I learned what buyers actually want to know before they part with money, which is almost always the same three things. What condition is it really in, will it fit, and is the photo the real thing.

This site is the answer to all three. Every listing is graded on a five-step scale, measurements of any piece are available on request before you buy, and the photographs are always of the item you will receive. I have never used a stock image and I never will.

How I grade

Five steps, and I would rather undersell a piece than oversell it: New with tags, Like new, Very good, Good and Fair. What each one means, and what I check before anything is listed, is set out on how we grade condition.

Some pieces do not make it onto the site at all. Thin jersey that has gone bobbly, knitwear that has lost its shape, anything I would not wear myself: those go to the charity bag rather than the rail.

What I write here

The guides on this site come from what I see every week: which brands hold up secondhand, how the sizing actually runs, what to look at twice before you buy. I write them because they are the questions I get asked, not because they are good for search.

My picks

Five favourites go on the homepage every week, with a line each on why I like them. They change as things sell, and things do sell, because there is only ever one of each.
